lyrics

Visiting home for the holidays, thinking differently
Bedroom of my childhood been imprisoning me
This time place, my mind state start regressing quickly
These days this windy city getting frigid to me
Blowing smoke, in below freezing, my breath visi’
Wasteland full of skeletons, see death in it
Walk in the park every evening, get clear headed
It’s dark out so early now, you know what it is
I’m up over the bridge, water under it'd be so frozen
Even though it’s road, these cars keep coming and going
And what are their stories? How we used to ponder
But I’ll never know em, stuck in the sonder

Searching for solace
For light in the solstice
Staring back into the darkness
Call out to radio silence
That winter day was where it all started
I became hardened, still ain’t heartless
Tell me this ain’t what you really wanted
I’m past bitter, but I stayed honest

Cause you were my solace
And now I’m my solace
I looked within and I found it
Solitude not always melancholic
Cause I’m so above it
Can’t believe the feeling
I discovered new ways of living
Artistry will be my truest healing
I’m so forgiving, you’re forgiven
Not an enemy, never were a villain
Hurt people making more victims
Inside myself, it was so revealing
Growing mature really go the distance
This melody is a saving grace
This empathy is my strongest trait
This energy has been long awaited
If you make it, I’ll still be waiting
Only if you’re brave enough to face it
So keep the truth on your face
Now tell me, how have you changed?
You said I’m so many things
Now I’m everything

Searching for solace
For light in the solstice
Staring back into the darkness
Call out to radio silence
That winter day was where it all started
I became hardened, still ain’t heartless
Tell me this ain’t what you really wanted
I’m past bitter, but I stayed honest

The wind is harsh, the winter’s dark
The wind is harsh, the winter’s dark
Brought myself out in that blizzard
While my family sleeping, mist is frigid
That night I left late, never revealed it
I’m not thinking, too numb to feel it
Traced the glass, and that wet my hands
Face is rosy, now they turning pink
Fire dragons, I still see the heat
I don’t wanna die, so just let me freeze
And I can shine like Jack, it’s below degrees
I don’t know, just hope they notice me
But the lamp pole is the single light
I cast a long shadow, only one in sight
Stand in fresh snowfall, it's pearly white
Like, that beauty was just too much
For the love of God, let me give it up
Guide me back out of what I’ve done
And help me find my way back home
Follow these sounds as they echo
I’m so alone, out here on my own
But they don’t need to know
No fear in the face of danger
Catharsis called me by a force of nature
This lowest moment is a stepping stone
Pray I’m forgiven for letting go, at least almost
Those harsh winds, that dark winter
Nearly turned the boy to a sinner
I just need to feel alive again
Please, let me feel alive again
Shed a tear when I look at the sky and it's mine again
